Solo Dance of Swing
Swing - Solo Jazz
Solo Jazz/Jazz Steps is an individual dance. It predates Lindy Hop and has come from a variety of different cultural traditions, but mainly from the Afro-American culture of North America. It shares the same name as the bustling city of South Carolina. Its dynamic style and spectacular sense of fun is closely identified with the wild spirit of the 1920's. It had a huge impact on the dance culture of the time, both for the complex coordination it requires and for the difficult steps-- rotation of the feet and waist and the flexing and extending of the arms and knees.

Tap Dance
Tap dance is a dance native to the United States and at the same time it's a musical instrument which allows a high degree of improvisation and creativity. It's danced individually and its main goal is to make music with the feet with the help of a special iron plate--or "tap"--that is attached to the sole. Tap dance practice improves musicality and coordination, and some tap dance movements can be incorporated in swing dances such as Lindy Hop or Charleston.
